June Sladek, Founder
Hello! My name is June Sladek. In 2008, I was diagnosed with Triple Negative IDC breast cancer. An invasive, aggressive and persistent form of breast cancer with a high probability of recurrence. During this time I met incredibly brave, amazing women finding their way through varying stages of the disease.
One woman in particular had a profound impact on me. Priscilla (Percy) was a fighter, a game changer, a rebel and an Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) patient. She would “let me in” and change my life.
We had a benefit for Percy and with the money raised she was able to go on a cruise with her mother and daughter. They had a vacation and an experience of a lifetime. Within months my friend was gone.
As a singer and songwriter and breast cancer survivor, I continue without recurrence.
My goal is to inspire, to support, to celebrate life and to raise money with music as the platform.
Today my focus is to help 501c3 organizations meet their fundraising goals to better serve our communities, organizing performances and events, basically “gigging for causes”. Together with other musicians who love the mission and want to give back, the Side Effects Project will catch fire and change lives!
The Side FX Project, founded by June Sladek from Mayfield Village, singer/songwriter, breast cancer survivor, launched her “band on a mission” in 2015. The Side FX Project gigs 4 causes performing to raise money for 501c3’s and individuals in need. Local performers have joined her to inspire, heal and unite through music.
The Movement
The SIDE FX Project has one goal in mind – #Gig4Causes. Our hashtag on social medica, we hope the movement will continue to catch on as we help organizations and individuals in need! The band ROCKLOGIK, Classic Rock & Soul Revue, performs in support the Side FX Project fundraising events.
Described as a cool mix of vintage rock & soul, incorporating the sounds that created the Americana genre – An infectious sound and energy that truly appeals to everyone!

Why Get Involved?
Organizations are considering music events as a new way to raise awareness, a fresh fundraising vehicle, and a way to grow their footprint.
June’s philosophy is that music Unites, Inspires and Heals. We will do all we can to ensure a successful event and help you meet your event goals!
